International Field Service Engineer (m/f/x)

Our client, Tomra Sorting Solutions, is one of the leading manufacturers for sorting devices. To further growth we are looking for the International Field Service Engineer (m/f/x)

Position Overview:
As an international field service engineer you are part of a team that is responsible for Field Service work (commissioning, operation, testing, integration, optimization, maintenance and repair) worldwide. This includes on call technical phone support and field response to equipment and customer issues. You will provide detailed field reports that are useful for the whole organization after every demonstration, installation or technical intervention and give support to Sales and Project Management. You will provide training of customer maintenance and service personnel on site as well as your colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out installations, calibrations, performance trials and acceptance tests for the equipment
  • Provide technical support to remote Process Analytics (PA) equipment
  • Carry out ad hock and scheduled service on PA machines
  • Manage and control tools, test equipment, technical documentation and other assigned equipment
  • Project management and execution of PA installations including calibrations of each contracted product type (meat, Crabs, etc.) optimizing customer resources and involvement
  • Execute automation projects associated with PA installations within the Automation Process Procedures and in consultation with Senior Automation staff
  • Contribute to sales presentations and discussions as appropriate for selling the PA equipment and associated automation systems
  • Aid in the generation of support documentation for customers and support personnel
  • Liaises with Supply Chain and Sales staff to clarify all technical matters relating to the technical details in the sales proposal and subsequent order specifications
  • Connect with corporate based R&D engineers on component obsolescence and specification change issues
  • Maintain complete and secure engineering files on products in accordance with internal procedures
  • Local testing of new applications
  • Coordinate shipment/delivery for equipment and parts of all sales, trials, and trade show material, etc.
  • Work with technical team to ensure to get sufficient documentation
  • Give ideas about improvement possibilities (quality/efficiency/profitability)
  • Act positively and customer oriented

Profile:

  • A Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronic, mechanical, or industrial engineering is preferred
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical information and issues in a user friendly manner, fluent in spoken and written German and English. Knowledge of a Scandinavian language will be of advantage
  • Excellent technical problem-solving, troubleshooting, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to relate to customers, their views and issues, locally and in other countries and cultures
  • Socially outgoing, ability to handle stress
  • Willing to travel for at least 80% of the time, based on a flexible schedule
  • Job requires frequent bending, kneeling and lifting in process trial period
  • 3-5 years “hands-on” experience in a B2B, Industrial Equipment support role
  • In-depth Knowledge of electrical systems and fault finding
  • Interest and knowledge of electro-mechanical equipment
  • Being self-motivated and having the proven capacity to fully complete tasks
  • Advanced IT and network skills
  • Full clean driving license essential
