Senior Buyer Nonfood - Perspective Teamlead Purchasing Nonfood (m/f/d)

Our partner is a medium-sized food producing company located in the Lower Rhine area. As part of a group of companies, the company is in a transformation to a group structure. The mix of operational and strategic tasks for the procurement of packaging materials, as well as the perspective responsibility for the entire purchasing of packaging materials is the core of your new position. An equally important part of your position is the further development of the existing processes towards the group structure. As a leader you will immediately take on responsibility and further develop your team and the internal processes.

These are your tasks

  • Procurement of raw & packaging materials in the double-digit million range in line with requirements and deadlines
  • Conducting price negotiations in order to expand competitive and innovative capabilities
  • Execution of tenders in the area of packaging materials, cardboard and labels
  • Identification and implementation of cost saving potentials in the supply chain with responsibility for results
  • Supervision of national and international suppliers including risk management
  • Preparation and adaptation of demand & market analyses and consideration of sales & development dynamics, trends and cost drivers
  • Maintenance of supplier, article and price information in the ERP system (Navision)
  • Reporting, monitoring and optimization of supplier performance in compliance with quality management requirements

What you bring with you

  • Business studies, ideally with a focus on procurement
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in strategic purchasing/category management
  • As a leader, you like to move forward and show your team new ways of doing things
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Negotiation skills, strong communication skills and assertiveness in dealing with suppliers and your team round off your profile
