Senior IT-Network Engineer (m/f/d)

For our client, a leading packaging company in the industry, based near Cologne, we are looking for a Senior IT-Network Engineer. Through circular solutions, the company makes an important contribution to sustainability in the global transport and packaging sector. In this role, you will be part of the forward-thinking, multicultural team in the IT Network department and will be jointly responsible for the further development of the network and the implementation of exciting projects.

Responsibilities

  • Execution of strategic planning, feasibility analysis, resource planning, project management and implementation of the network migration from MPLS to SD-WAN (Palo Alto) in the entire international environment
  • Implementation of CISCO Meraki technology in the international environment
  • Maintaining smooth IT operations in the international IT network area in collaboration with the existing IT network team
  • Very close and daily cooperation with the US-IT network team
  • Strategic planning and implementation of group wide IT projects: e.g..: VoIP/UCaaS
  • IT network security and assistance in managing day-to-day business operations as well as Network monitoring and logging projects

Requirements

  • 5+ years of work experience ideally in an international environment
  • Palo Alto certification (e.g.: PCNSA) or CISCO certification (e.g.: Meraki Solutions Specialist) desirable
  • Knowledge: LAN-WAN-WLAN and MPLS technologies, firewalling (Palo Alto, CheckPoint,
  • CISCO-Meraki, web proxy), SD-WAN, routing/routers, VoIP/UCaaS/PBX, switching, DNS + DHCP, (agile) project management, monitoring, logging, IT security
  • Excellent communication skills in English and advanced German skills to communicate with different stakeholders
  • Team oriented approach, ability to work under pressure and hands-on mentality
