At the location in Hanover, you will work as a property/industry underwriter - focus: chemical/energy risks.

Your tasks:

  • The assessment and evaluation of chemical/energy risks as a basis for the acceptance of insurance risks is your responsibility
  • You are responsible for the management and expansion of industrial property insurance business with policyholders in Germany and abroad (via international brokerage houses and our own foreign companies in the area of chemical/energy risks)
  • The systematic incorporation of findings from engineering inspections and claims in the underwriting process is a matter of course for you
  • The alimentation of reinsurance contracts
  • You will be involved in a wide range of projects and will be an active member of the Group's Centre of Competence for Chemicals/Energy

Your profile:

  • You have a degree in engineering or a comparable qualification and several years of professional experience in the industrial insurance business
  • You can demonstrate initial practical professional experience in underwriting in the area of chemical/energy risks in a national and preferably international environment
  • You are familiar with the independent conduct of discussions and negotiations with stakeholders
  • Your team-oriented, independent and solution-oriented way of working, as well as communicative, intercultural and interpersonal skills characterise you
  • You have a very good command of written and spoken English. Good knowledge of another foreign language is welcome, but not required
  • The motivation to learn German is indispensable
  • A general willingness to travel on business completes your profile
